Helping Children with School (homeschool, public or private), with Shelley Macy

In almost every family emotional boulders fall into children’s paths as they try to navigate school, whether at public school, private school, preschool, or while being homeschooled. Parents try incentives, strict expectations, lectures, pleading, logical consequences, letting things slide, and more. But the difficulties often remain or resurface. We will offer a new set of ideas to try, and we will give parents two specific tools for helping to relieve the tension that builds when a child digs in their heels over a difficult social situation or assignment or even over engaging in school at all. We will answer questions and show how parents can help their children build confidence, solve problems, and gain competence.
